Nick Cannon was born in San Diego, California on October 8, 1980. His grandfather mostly raised him, and he grew up in the Bay Vista Housing Projects in Lincoln Park.
As a teenager, Cannon had connections with the Lincoln Park Bloods street gang. However, he left the gang behind when he tragically lost a close friend to violence.
